White and red wines from DO Rueda, Spain
The Denomination of Origin Rueda was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture on January 12, 1980 been the first one approved in the Region of Castilla y León, Spain.
The acknowledgement and protection of its autochthonous grape variety, the Verdejo, was earned.We posses exceptional natural resources for the production of top-quality wines, specially white wines but also, from the 5 of August of 2008 the red wines and rosé are protected too.
The production area included in the Denomination of Origin Rueda is located in the Region of Castilla y León, Spain.
<p style="font-size: 13px;"><strong>VARIETY</strong>: 100% Verdejo</p> <p style="font-size: 13px;"><strong>WINE-MAKING</strong>: Mechanical night harvest (to preserve freshness of the grape). Exclusively juice from the first press in pneumatic press. Alcoholic Fermentation controlled at 17ºC(62,60ºF) in stainless steel vats. Must settling and cold stabilisation before bottling.</p> <p style="font-size: 13px;"><strong>COLD MACERATION</strong>: Cold skin contact maceration for 8 – 12 hours.</p> <p style="font-size: 13px;"><strong>TASTING NOTES</strong>: It has a lovely straw yellow colour with a steely green tint and clear aromas which combine a variety of flavours such as green apples, grapefruit lemon zest, medlars and lychees together with hints of moos and hay and a touch of aniseed coming through. It is very well structured with perfectly balanced acidity which gives the wine great freshness. Full bodied. Long and complex fhinish revealing an array of flavours ending with that typical Verdejo bitter touch.</p> <p style="font-size: 13px;"><strong>FOOD PAIRINGS</strong>: It goes perfectly with smooth cheeses, spicy rice (paella), white meat and of course, with all kind of fish and seafood.</p>

<p>100% Verdejo. Of which, more tan 80% comes from old vineyard consisting of Bush vines that are harvested by hand. The remaining 20% of the vines are Young (between 20 and 40 years old), trellised, and harvested by machine at night.</p> <p>Cold grape maceration for 10 hours, before pressing. Racking of the must and fermentation occurs in temperatura controlled, stainless-steel tanks, while the lees are stirred in order to keep them in suspensión.</p> <p>Servee between 8º and 10ºC</p> <p>Clean and brillant color, pale yellow shade with greenish hues. Tropical and citrus fruit aroma pair with a floral background. Well structured in the mouth, alluring. Long finish and balsamic notes.</p> <p><strong>Allergens</strong>: Contains sulfites.</p>

<p style="font-size: 13px;"><u><b>ABOUT THE WINERY</b></u></p> <p>Bodegas Castelo de Medina was founded by three wine lovers in 1996 in the heart of the Rueda Designation of Origin, in a small town called Villaverde de Medina in the Province of Valladolid (Spain). We grow, harvest and select grapes and make, bottle and market wine in Castelo de Medina. Year after year our superb quality wines and services make us one of the most highly renowned wineries of the Rueda Designation of Origin. Our extensive range of red, white and rosé wines has been won prizes at the main national and international competitions as a result of the great investments in quality we have made in our winery since it was founded. The winery, which features traditional Castilian architecture (face brick, stone, wrought iron and wood), is equipped with advanced technologies for producing high quality wines. The palate is broad, powerful, fresh and very balanced. <p style="font-size: 13px;"><strong>VARIETY</strong>: 90% verdejo 10% Sauvignon Blanc</p> <p style="font-size: 13px;"><strong>PRODUCT DESCRIPTION</strong>: A wine made from the coupage of grapes Verdejo (90%) and Sauvignon Blanc (10%) from different plots, all situated in an environment no more than 4 kilometers from the cellar. We seek a balance between classic and modern Verdejo, with a depth of tropical fruit and high aromatic intensity.</p> <p style="font-size: 13px;"><strong>TASTING NOTE</strong>: Straw yellow with a thin layer of lemony overtones. High aromatic intensity, tropical fruit with a grassy depth and aniseed characteristic of the variety. To the palate it demonstrates a significant volume, smooth and very pleasant.A wine that is a current revamp of the classic Verdejo.</p> <p style="font-size: 13px;"><strong>FOOD PAIRINGS</strong>: It perfectly combines with fresh seafood and fish, pasta, rice and white meat.</p> <p style="font-size: 13px;"><strong>RESIDUAL SUGAR</strong>: 3 g/l</p>
